Wicklow is my favourite county in Ireland, the town has still kept a lovely country feel even though it is now a busy spot. Lots of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. Just 2 miles south of Wicklow town you come across Silverstand which is one of the nicest beaches in the area. Just 2 miles south of Wicklow town you come across Silverstand which is one of the nicest beaches in the area. I also love going to Avoca and having a pint of Guinness at The Meeting of the Waters or taking a walk through the gardens of Avondale House. There is also areas such as Glendalough which is one of the main attractions in the area and Roundwood, another little town along the way.close

    If you want to feel like family, this is a great place. Immaculate accommodations & Daphne & Pat are most helpful and friendly. It is a trainride from Wicklow...so speak to somebody first if you're not sure where you're going. If you want to visit Glendalough... it's a very short scenic car...

    This place is fantastic. Decorated with great taste. Also staff is very very helpful and nice. One of best B&B:s I've visited. I would definately come again.

    This Hostel is great for taking walks around the Wicklow/Glendalough area. It is very peaceful and relaxing. Make sure you go to a supermarket shop before you go into Glendalough, there is only a general store a 2km walk away. This hostel is great.

    The hostel was dirty (although, there was dogs in the kitchen). The room was small and the mattress was really old so we couln't sleep well. We had problems with the hot water in the shower. Also, there was unnexpected visitors: insects. The hostel is not well located: you need a car to get it,...

  4. Glenmalure Hostel (Hostelling International) 80%      

    The Hostel was quit nice but there has been no electricity, no running water at all (you can use the river for washing yourself) and no Telephone. I think it is important to say that it would be better to park at the car park before the river, because the river can swell and flood (the crossing).

    We had a relly good time here in this little mountain hut, but be warned..it is right up in the mountains in the middle of nowhere and there is no electricity or running water and the toilets are in the shed! But if this is your idea of a good time then you will love it. Frank, the proper irish...

    If you're lucky enough to get nice weather in Ireland, then a day trip to Glendalough is great. Its an old monastic settlement located around 2 lakes. Its a fab walk and you can also climb up to the top of the mountain there where the views are amazing, then you can walk back down and cross over by the upper lake, it really is beautiful.
